Persistent or just really stubborn?

Am I being persistent or stubborn? That’s a question I ask myself often. Because persistence is considered a good thing. Meanwhile, being stubborn is a sign of unwillingness to learn. But where exactly is the line between persistence and being stubborn?

My Substack

In the background is an illustration of a woman with red hair, looking back at the camera, wearing jewelry and makeup. Over the image the words "This is why your 'preference' in women might actually be a misogynistic beauty standard – how your innocent preferences could be perpetuating harmful beauty standards" are written. It also says "Image credits: Freepik" and "solelythriving.substack.com".

I'm wendy. Let's burn down the patriarchy

Hi there, my name is Wendy and I am the face and soul behind Solely Thriving. I started this blog because I am obsessed with intersectional feminism, the patriarchy and everyone’s complicity in it. I want to help you strengthen your involvement in real intersectional feminism for ALL women – and even for men. So, we can ultimately burn down the patriarchy. Welcome to Solely Thriving.

unpack complicity

Examine your own complicity in the patriarchy. We look at how our own conditioning makes us partially responsible for the systems in place. And we try to turn that conditioning into healing, instead of hurting.

Claiming space

Taking up space is an act of resistance. By going against the expectations set by society, we slowly undo years of patriarchal conditioning and create opportunities for the next generation.

Solely Myself

Learn how to be your authentic self by finding your own voice, completely void of patriarchal conditioning. It's time to be yourself. Without anyone telling you who that is or who you should be.

Uncomfortable but necessary

Unpacking your own patriarchal complicity is hard work. You have to look at your own subconscious biases and unpack the ways you look at the world and how you approach your own life and the lives of others. This work is uncomfortable but necessary. Because we're all small links in the chain that makes up the patriarchal structure we live in. And by removing ourselves from that chain one by one, can we weaken it until it ultimately breaks.
